The #1 challenge I want to tackle in my city is...lowering the metro fare and parking garage fees for stations in suburban areas in order to make public transit a more competitive option against driving and parking in downtown. Since many suburban dwellers commuting into downtown for work often find themselves paying higher for metro fare and parking at the metro station than paying for parking in downtown. Lowering fare and parking fees at suburban metro stations so that the lump sum is cheaper than parking in downtown encourages public transit use and alleviate traffic congestion during rush hours.
