David Dodman
General Director at Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam | Netherlands
David Dodman wants to "make cities work for all". This he believes we can do if we’re willing to learn from cities and communities around the world about the true opportunities for creating a better “urban world”. Personally, David makes an impact by providing high quality education, research, and advisory services to citizen groups, local and national governments, and international agencies. He’s contributing to key global debates on urbanisation and climate change by working jointly with major international organisations such as the IPCC and UN Habitat. And, closer to home, he oversees a highly motivated team of academics, researchers, and urban professionals who share his vision. With a focus on cities and communities in low- and middle-income nations, where some of the world's greatest urban challenges – but also most compelling opportunities – are most acute, David aims to inspire and empower urban professionals and citizens to make cities work for everyone’s benefit. This summer, he’ll be doing it at Urban Future, too.
