As an impact-driven professional and writer holding a PhD on the ideal development of social start-ups, Asceline Groot initiated, developed, and managed different online and offline communities, entrepreneurial platforms, and programmes. As Partner at hetkanWEL, a not-for-profit content and research platform that reaches more than 3 million users per year, she inspires customers to make more sustainable life choices and support impact-driven brands. Together with Gerrit Jan van ‘t Veen (another Urban Future speaker) and in collaboration with ImpactCity, BMW Foundation, and Social Enterprise NL, Asceline started ImpactDistrict: an inclusive, decentralised entrepreneurship programme for and by women who aim to jointly make a positive impact on society. She would love to inform others about the need for an inclusive and supportive ecosystem that creates a playground for ALL impact-driven entrepreneurs to develop their ideas for change.
